Conditioning   More than just your hour’s worth…

30 minutes prior to every practice, we have an optional selection of warmup drills that focus on strength and conditioning. At no extra cost, most kids choose to take part in jump roping, hurdles, the speed ladder, and more to provide themselves and our program with a few invaluable components.

The little they do each day goes a long way in making them stronger, faster, quicker, and more coordinated. Learning to be early to events should assist them in many realms in life. Having far few stragglers allows the time we have on the court to be as optimal as possible. And the notion that they've CHOSEN to do extra should solidify the pursuit of greatness in their minds.

League Games   About a game per weekend, year-round

We play in 3-4 leagues per year - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. There are 8 games (plus playoffs) for each team, and we play approximately once a week. The league is organized by MVP Flight, all the games are in or near Walnut Creek, and the schedules are released a little less than a week prior to the first game.

Due to school obligations, the high school teams do not play in the Winter league.

We also have weekly Adult League games for parents & coaches of the program. We use this aspect to stay in-shape, to further bond as a community, to practice our plays to assist our kids, and to have a little fun. There's only 15 players max, and you can click here for availability and more details.

Monthly Clinics   A detailed lesson once per month

Our 2-hour clinics are once a month. We use this time to go over one of six facets of the game in monstrous depth. The facets are Ball Handling, Shooting, Defensive Skill, Offensive Skill, Rebounding, and Inside Scoring.

For each clinic, we go over our ten tips designed to guide players towards perfection of that particular focus. Within this setup, we do drills and play games engineered to help cement what's learned in the minds of those who wish to apply it later.

Scrimmages   Surprise games at random practices

To always keep the kids on their toes, every now and then we’ll have an all-out game against a random opponent at a scheduled practice. By doing this, we hope to inspire the players to show to every possible practice they’re able. Be sure to bring your jerseys, as only those in uniform may play!

Do you have a team in need of a game?! Click the link to the right to get a free scrimmage against any one of our teams. Refs, scoreboard, and a game with as many timeouts as you'd like against any level players you desire!

Tournaments   Competition on a national level!

Our local tournaments include Sacramento, San Francisco. The schedules for each tournament are given to use for distribution no more than 3 days prior to the first game. We realize the hectic nature of this inconvenience, but it's just the way it is. Players should book their spot online for each day they're able to attend, and should show up to each game at least 30 minutes prior to tip-off.

The tournaments we travel to are in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Players should book their spot on the site, as well as hotel reservation at least 5 months prior to these events.

Tryouts   but more like YOU trying US out…

Although a huge majority of players enjoy our program, it’s absolutely not for everyone. If you’d like to try us out, you may do so any time throughout the year by paying for a scheduled workout. During the months of August and February, workouts are free for non-members to attend with the promo code "TRYOUT". Each player signing up for an account online gets one free workout for that month. To book events outside of our official tryout months, simply log-in and press BOOK on any given event to pay the listed price. You may pay for as many events as you like. Be sure to show up 30 minutes prior to take part in our daily conditioning routine!

We'll also be holding tryouts for our Elite team at the beginning of August. One player per grade will receive a full ride scholarship, which includes membership fees, tournament fees, tons of free gear, hotel costs, and free flights. Spots are limited, so click here to signup ASAP!

Workouts   Available for all members

Our workouts are intense (and fun) and are geared towards using every second of the event to improve each and every player involved. To expedite improvement, only one session per week is dedicated to improving our elite team as a whole, while the rest are fully designed to develop skill, increase knowledge, and heighten the passion for the game for each player.

Most players show up 30 minutes prior to workouts to participate in our optional strength and conditioning circuit. To provide enough motivation to eventually internalize their efforts, we try to allow a certain amount of autonomy over time, task, team, and technique. We may use negativity to push those who need negativity, but we always ensure to try the positive first. Prior to trying positivity, we allow a certain amount of time for each player to push themselves; but our overall goal is for each player to get to the point where they're actually motivating one another. All of this is how we create greatness.

YEARLY BREAKS   We definitely go year-round, but we still take breaks!

  • MARCH MADNESS  For the first week of March, our staff attends the WCC Conference basketball tournament in Vegas to support the Saint Mary's Gaels.

  • SPRING BREAK  Although the week changes each year and various schools have different weeks off, plan on us taking one week off during April.

  • FALL BREAK  We take the second and third weeks of August off to recover from our grueling summer schedule just in time to prepare to go back to school.

  • CHRISTMAS BREAK  The 2nd Sunday of December is our Awards Ceremony. After that, we won't return until the first Monday after New Year's Day.

COST   We offer a ton more, yet charge a lot less!

$600 for 4 months   Includes league games, 4-6 workouts per week, uniform, monthly clinics, summer camp, and any other events taking place during your time period. Most programs charge this much for just 1 or 2 practices per week, and they'd have a separate charge for summer camp and clinics (if they had those at all).

$1,500 for 1 year   Includes everything above, but at a drastically lower price as a thanks for your commitment.

$500 extra + Tryouts   Our Elite team includes everything above, but also has mandatory weekly team practices consisting of other elite team members to focus on team strategies for local & travel tournaments. Elite team members also receive a substantial amount of extra gear at no additional charge.

NOTE:   There's an automatic recurring charge on the first two membership options above that you can log-in immediately to cancel, and each option also has a sibling discount price as well.

DETAILED SYNOPSIS

In a nutshell, it's either 4-months or 1-year of your kid getting as many practices and games as they can handle. We guarantee we'll have more events than your player will be willing and/or able to show up to, so we'll most definitely appease whatever your needs happen to be at our relatively low price.

We offer absolutely everything from year-round games, local and travel tournaments, summer camps, detail-oriented monthly clinics, open gyms, private sessions, conditioning, a program for 3-6 year olds, and a ton more. Attendance and hard work are our foremost concerns, as our primary objectives are to improve your overall game and to teach each player the path to excellence to apply towards whatever their life's passion may become.

We'd love for you to be one of our 50 All-Stars!

PLAY: TRIANGLE
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

This is our basic set that every other play we run is rooted in. By default, this play is sprinted into every time, and is reverted into when any play breaks down. As is the case with every play, defensive weaknesses should be recognized and exploited.

When ran in conjunction with iso, side, lateral, pyramid, hype, right, and 180, reacting to whatever the defense has to offer becomes an instinctive and free-flowing task.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: SIDE
DIFFICULTY: EASY

When the top gaurd isn't able to pass the ball to the wing, that player dribbles at the wing to initiate the backdoor cut. The pass, of course, is optional. Without the pass, the play proceeds as if the pass were made.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: ISO
DIFFICULTY: EASY

When the top guard dribbles out the wing, the dribbler may decide to attack the basket to score or pass from this isolation set.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: HYPE
DIFFICULTY: EASY

When the top guard dribbles out the wing, the wing play may choose to post after cutting all the way to the basket first. This can either be a read or a called play based on a mismatch.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: 180
DIFFICULTY: EASY

When the top guard dribbles out the wing, the wing may choose to forego their backdoor cut in place of taking the handoff towards becoming the top guard.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: LATERAL
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

When the player on the wing is unable to reverse the ball, the top guard sets an on-ball screen.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: POLLY
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

When the wings are heavily denied, the top guard dribbles out to the lane-line to initiate a backdoor cut by the strong-side guard and a wing-to-wing cut by the weak-side guard.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: PYRAMID
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

Whenever the top guard cuts towards the ball side due to the placement of the 2 inside players, we initiate this cross-screen, down-screen action.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: TANGENT
DIFFICULTY: CHALLENGING

For Tangent, the point guard attempts to get double-teamed by penetrating off a double screen to create an array of options for the others.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: SCALE
DIFFICULTY: CHALLENGING

We run this play against teams over-denying the attempts of our wings to catch the reverse pass. Timing and a good passing angle are everything.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: RIGHT
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

Whenever the pass is entered into the top inside player, a backdoor cut by the open-side wing takes place. From this, many options are available.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: THREE
DIFFICULTY: CHALLENGING

Against teams overplaying our wings, we run them through 3 sets of curl screens. If nothing happens, the fourth curl becomes Lateral leading back into Triangle.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: ZONE OFFENSE
DIFFICULTY: CHALLENGING

Against zones, we allow for everyone to read the defense to find the open spaces. This is a merely a template for where to stand and cut.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: PRESS BREAK
DIFFICULTY: CHALLENGING

Every player should start exactly as indicated, and then make solid screens and cuts to ensure the open options are clear. When/if the ball is passed to the middle, the guards sprint forward for a give & go option.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: BASELINE OOB
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

From the box set, the strong side guard chooses to screen any of the 3 remaining inbounds players. The other players screen and cut accordingly.
PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
PLAY: SIDELINE OOB
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

From the side, we run Pyramid (or a smaller version of our Press Break) to get open.
